Campaign Story
* Typical cost of capstone projects (including registrations, travel and supplies) is about $1200.
* I am trying to raise $600 as family and school will cover the rest.
Goals for My Fundraiser:
Supporting my capstone project
*** I plan to pursue the project though participation in TSA activities like competitions and community service. ***
The Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that helps students explore STEM through hands-on projects, competitions, and leadership opportunities.
What is ‘Tech-Driven Social Justice Platform’
A web-based platform that aggregates social justice issues, crowdsources community data, and provides analytical insights to empower women in STEM.

Why I am pursuing this project (My why)
- I am a ‘Reflective Thinker’ personality type person with strong ‘advocate’ business potential.
- I’m super passionate about coding, especially when it’s for social justice causes. I’m also really good at analyzing data on everything from pop culture to fast food. I’m taking these skills and using them to work on a project as a Tech Consultant, aiming to solve global problems. My ultimate goal? To use tech to help get more girls into STEM..
My plan of action: Competitions and Activities
Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) to join:
TSA – A CTSO focused on technology and STEM competitions, providing hands-on experience in software development, data analysis, and technical project management, which is essential for the student’s passion project.
FBLA – A CTSO emphasizing business leadership and administration, offering opportunities to develop skills in delegation, time management, and business procedures that align with the student’s advocate business potential.
Competitions
FBLA – Business Ethics Competition
This introductory competition exposes the student to ethical decision-making and communication, aligning well with the social justice theme.
Community Service:
Tech Empowerment Workshop
Why it fits: The workshop connects technology skills with social justice, allowing the student to apply competition learnings in a real-world setting in zip code 30058.
Implementation: Partner with local community centers and schools to host a series of digital literacy and civic engagement sessions, incorporating hands-on tech projects and social justice discussions.
Skills Development: Community engagement, instructional skills, project planning, digital literacy
